Two Screw or One?

Postby Paul Robertshaw » Wed Sep 05, 2012 7:26 pm

So, if I have a UV filter permanently fixed to a lens (as a protector) and want to use a polarising (or any other filter), am I going to get any downside by adding that on top of the UV filter?

When I use a polariser I generally remove the protector for the duration, just to prevent vignetting mainly.

Makes sense. Next question then - what exactly IS vignetting?

The darkening in the corners of images, caused by less light entering the edges of the lens.
