ok change of plan as my models wouldnt sit still enough for me to play with the Brenizer method. so I went with a little product style white background photography.
2/52 the Apple
I built mini sort of soft box out of paper and lit the apple with a desk lamp from the top.

ok not sure if this one counts but it was a challenge.
This week my daughter wanted to do photography so my challenge was to be able to explain photography to a 7 year old.
of course she wanted to have a go with all the gear so here is the results.
started of with a lesson in Tog Zen

explained a little about lighting and played with some flash and reflectors

next a little play with compositions

next grace wanted to play with some post so we got on photoshop and the final result is

ok so this weeks challenge sounds a bit weird. But it was quite interesting to really think about the easiest ways to explain what we are doing when we take pictures .
Oh and it was a lot of fun

Great idea. Maybe I should try that with my Mum...
On second thoughts, I've got better chance of explaining it to my cat..

5/52 Light painting. I used three small LED lights a green one to illuminate the bottle a blue one to light the back ground and a red one attached to a shoelace to create the effect.

This was a lot more tricky than I first thought. and this was the best I got after playing with it for over an hour!

Spot on Phil, love a bit of light painting.. I've been thinking about a little electronics project (Raspberry Pi/Arduino based) to make a full RBG programmable light wand. With those you can paint a whole bitmap image...

Light Painting is loads of fun I think I want to try something on a larger scale perhaps a landscape.
