Re: Gay Gilmour - Project 52 2016

Awesome. Brownie points for Gay for keeping up the goal of changing up the style each time. That's what this is all about!

Event: The Photography Show (NEC 19-22nd March)

The Photography Show is fast approaching at the NEC in Birmingham. I'll definitely be there all day Monday and possibly again on the tuesday too. As always I'll be avoiding the weekend days as they're full of muggles and I can't be doing with that. I think I'll be up heading up on Sunday evening and...

Re: Helen Project 52 2016

The thing I found when doing water drops is the depth of the water, and the height of the cup makes quite a difference to the quality of the splash. There's something to do with the water surface tension that if you get the height of the drop just right you don't get too many little drops breaking o...

Re: Phil Munyard Project 52 2016

Nice one Phil. Very topical this week too. Did you manage to get it to balance ok or was there a sneaky bit of blu-tack involved? Classic one which I've done a couple of times for weddings is to use a dictionary open at the entry for 'love' or 'marriage' and get a little pool of light (or cheat and ...

Re: Gay Gilmour - Project 52 2016

Given your email was my tree theme wrong i.e. not different enough? Nope it's cool.. Nothing wrong with that. My mail was aimed at everyone, to remind people that the key benefit is to get people out of their comfort zone and doing different things. You've done some great stuff so far! BTW, I've mo...

Re: Helen Project 52 2016

Excellent, looks like you've pretty much got the technique nailed on the water drops. Well done!

Now it's just a case of experimenting a few times with the amount of water, height of the source, position of the flash etc.

Re: Project 52: 2016 Intro / General Discussion

Seems to me that those of you who are posting pics, are just coming on here and posting one pic to your thread, but not actually looking at or commenting on others work, or indeed, even reading my comments about the project itself... Come on guys, a bit of actual interaction goes a long way! It's no...
